icon_lol.gif I finally got my photos off my camera & uploaded them onto here. These are the cakes I've done since March. Maybe soon I'll figure out how to upload my other photos. thumbs_up.gif

Your cakes are BEAUTIFUL! How do you make the gum paste flowers look so nice?? Do you use molds? Also, what exactly is brushed embroidery and how did you do it? You are so talented!

Thank you for your nice comments. Yes I use a mold for the hydrangeas. Pasta machine the gumpaste, mold them, then let them dry in a chair foam that I've ripped little holes into. Then I flip them over attach them to wires with royal icing, let that dry, then paint on the highlights.

Brushed embroidery is a technique where you pinprick designs on your cake, royal icing over the lines & then use a slightly damp tiny paintrbush to pull some of the icing to the middle & it looks like embroidery. I took a class from Earlene Moore & she taught me how to do it. I really love it but so far haven't convinced any brides that it is worth the money to have such a subtle detail on your cake.
