Hi everyone:
I have been away from the computer for a few days. My grandma, who is 106 years old caught a little cold and end up in the hospital with pneumonia. She was very sick, we almost lost her. She is home now with lots of care and a visiting nurse and a doctor visiting her. Lots of medication too which has caused her to get very confused. I was really scared.

Anyway, I want to share this cake I made for her. The cake is for the nurses at the hospital who were so kind to grandma and us as well. I cannot really claim that is a real cake because I used the following ingridients and it was more building than creating, I think: icon_redface.gif

used Little Debbie Snack cakes to build a tower. In the hollow center of the tower I used a plastic container to hold the choc. covered strawberries that I made. Used choc. icing to hold snack cakes and strawberries in place.

A not so chip way to make a cake because of the prices of straberries and the amount of Little Debbie snack cakes used (used 6 boxes). Lots of fun and I hope that the nurses at the hospital will enjoy it tomorrow.

Thank you for taking your time to read my lengthy note. Grandma is doing better.

Wow that's a yummy looking cake!! good job, I'm sure the nurses were really happy with that. It's not everyone that will thank the nurses like this. they do hard work. One of my grandma died at 80, the other is 73 now and already sick, so I'm sure I won't have her in 33 years! icon_surprised.gif 106 years, wow that's a long life to have!! She seems to have a loving familly!!

How thoughtful!

My Mom is in a nursing home 3 hours away, and when I go, I always try to take them something, too.

I'm wishing you the best, and your Granny!

I like to thank everyone for the good wishes of my grandma. She is doing a little better. Is one day at a time, sometimes an hour, but every minute count. We so blessed.

Hugs to each one of you for your thoughtfulness and for the good things about my cake.
