I need a resource for how to make a good gumpaste lily...I've seen some pics of lilies done in gumpaste that are inCREDible. I'm taking classes this summer, but I can't wait that long...lol
Actually, a book on ALL gumpaste flowers (and not the Wilton book) would be cool. My cake supply store locally doesn't carry what I'm looking for...maybe I should check with Scott Woolley...
any ideas?
Have you looked at the help section on "how to make gum paste Lily's" here at CC? I noticed it once & have to start practicing as well, because I have a wedding cake with gum paste Lily's all over it, due in July. If you think about it, please let me know if you find anything else that's worth sharing, and I'll keep you in mind as well. Thanks!
I just put "Gum Paste Lily" in the search box in the upper right corner (hopefully your page is formatted the same!) - with the magnafying glass... Then, the very first listed item (under where you can click on "gallery", "forums", or "recipes"), it says "Step-by-step Directions for making Gum Paste Lily's" - or something like that, but it starts with "Step-by-step". Hopefully this is helpful! Good luck! =)
oh, sorry, I had thought you meant calla as well. I did see, last time I was at my supplier, a book by Wilton, that had the 6-petal Lily's too (asiatic?)... I dont' know what the name of it was though, sorry! But maybe check with Wilton.com site, or ask questions there? They have a forum also. Well, good luck =)
