You may find this link helpful:

According to my information, you may make cakes from your home kitchen if you only sell to individuals or Farmer's Markets. Call your local Department of Agriculture office to ask for details! icon_smile.gif

to sell to customers in Kansas, you have to be legal, and that means to have a seperate kitchen then the one you use for your family, with a three bay sink, and washable walls, and a bathroom close by. I know this because I have spend two years building this and getting legal.
you can sell at farmers markets and some craft fairs...just be careful because your not supposed to advertise with out having a liscence. (sp?)

good luck

Yep, all that and then some! Just call the Dept. of Agriculture for your county and they can send you a packet of information on all of this fun stuff! It is a huge investment unless you're just doing a handful of cakes a month. If you want to do much advertising, you'll have to take the plunge. BTW, where in KS are ya', I'm in the SE corner. Lori
