I think I may be a bit confused, but I kinda remember reading somewhere that fondant and buttercreme icing do not mix well together - something about it causes one of them to become runny. Is this true?

If it is does this also apply to MMF?

I want to use MMF on customers baseball cake, but am unsure if I should pipe the edge with butterceme or use a MMF rope to hide the cut edge.

From what I understand, most people frost their cakes with Buttercream THEN apply the fondant!

This way if you get your BC really smoothe, the fondant will lay smoothe-

also, if someone doesn't like Fondant, then can peel it off and the cake still has frosting!

This is my plan...
