Hi guys,
Everyone is so hilarious with your comments! Thanks again for the support.
Here's an update. I had a friend who attended the party with her daughter. I didn't tell her any of what the Mother had e-mailed.I didn't want to create a bad reputation for talking behind this womans back[Except of course to all of you]LOL. My friend called me the next day to tell me how all of the little girls went crazy over the cake at the party. She then told me she was a little taken aback by the Mother's reaction, her comment at the party was "this wasn't quite what I had in mind when I asked for a bride doll cake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Needless to say if she ever orders again I am endlessly booked for the day she needs one!

What the he(double hockey sticks) did she expect??? She should have been more specific about what she wanted then. This woman is a TWIT!!

I agree with all the other post. If this woman had a problem with that cake she's the one with a problem, not your cake!! It's beautiful! ALL of your cakes are!! thumbs_up.gif

You've got to be kidding right??? icon_confused.gif I don't know what else would qualify for a "bride cake" more than a bride. If it had been me that you made that for, I probably wouldn't have let anyone touch it, because it was too pretty to eat !! LOL My husband tells me I'm wierd that way though. I'm sure anyone in their right mind at that party probably just rolled their eyes at the mother. I bet the little girl loved it since she was probably the envy of all the other little girls. icon_smile.gif

I'm guessing that Mom must've been imagining a bride doll cake that looks like one of those crocheted things grandma uses to cover up the extra toilet paper roll in the guest bathroom! icon_rolleyes.gif

Oh my gosh that is SO funny. Maybe if she ever calls again that's what you should give her.

Ok, who ever said that obviously has never made a Barbie Cake! While I was sitting her reading your post my husband came by hearing me say some not so nice comments about the negative feedback you received. He asked to see the cake. I showed him. He reply was OMG! #1 Look at Barbie's arms! there like two tooth pics and and #2 what did they expect her body to look like 2 tootsie rolls??? OK, after that comment I was OTFLMAO.
Don't ever let anyone's negativity discourage you. You are a wonderful artist. Your love for baking cake is just as obvious as their jealously

Actually, heychele, what I really want to tell you is that I think you should do several of these, all different (with different Barbies of course) and submit it freelance as a spread for Martha Stewart Weddings or something like that. Your work is that lovely and it would make such a smashing addition to really ANY bridal magazine!

I love your photography skills also! You should share your secrets in that venue too!

You're quite welcome but it's something you should seriously consider. I'll just take credit for the idea, OK? icon_cool.gif

This is not what she expected for a bride cake......for a 6-yr old?! What the heck was she expecting, flowing fondant gown and veil?!?!?! icon_confused.gif
Sometimes I really wonder about what people are thinking - or drinking!

thumbs_up.gif I am soo not a Barbie fan. But when I saw your cake, I saved it right away. If ever asked to do a bride cake, that is the one I would choose! Your work is just awesome. My family calls clients like this magazines, because they have so many issues.
Keep up the good work.
