I love that little 3x8 pan too. It's really my 'go to' pan whenever I bake just for us.

I would have to say my new refridgerator!!!! (sp?)

Our house is small so the only place I could put it was in our scrapbooking room!!!
Nothing like having a room with 3 long tables and a fridge!!! (oh ya!)

I would have to also say I love my new cuisinart food processor!!

I am mad at my KA at the moment!! (you would think if you spend the money on a "professional" one, it would work!)

I can do everything in my cuisinart that I could not do with my KA!!!

The best fondant rolling pin is a PVC pipe you can purchase in the plumbing department at Home Depot or Rona. It comes in 3 foot lengths and is 1 1/2 inches (it says 1 1/4 inches but the actual circumference is 1 1/2 inches). I make two by cutting into 22 inch and 14 inch. They sell the ring packages for 1 1/2 inches widths which fit perfectly to roll out exact thickness.

Nothing sticks to this pipe and you can cut it in any length you need. For $4.50 Cdn - it surely is the best deal around. Also because it is hollow I am able to store my roll and cut mat.

Enjoy

DeliciousD do you just use a hack saw or something to cut the pipe? This sounds like just what I've been looking for. I'm still using an old wooden rolling pin icon_mad.gif and I hate it!

Ok, most everything has been mentioned here already. I love using my parmesan cheese jar for my toothpicks. I'm not sure what the actual name is, but the pizza places use them. they're probably 3 or 4 inches high with a metal lid with holes. The holes are perfect for shaking out toothpicks when you have your hands full of icing! Also love my turntable and all my Pampered Chef stuff!! I have the measure all cup, measuring spoons, SPATULA'S (I have 3 of each one and want at least one more!), medium scoop (want to get the large scoop), cooling racks, mixing bowls (they're really cool with a rubber bottom so they don't slide!). I never thought I'd use extra mixing bowls, but I can't seem to bake without them! I sift my flour into one, measure it into another and add any baking powder, etc that's called for. I'll mix a small amount of whatever with my hand mixer in one, it goes on and on and on! I could go forever, but basically I LOVE TO CAKE!!!

WOW!!!!! This is fun!!!!!! icon_razz.gificon_razz.gificon_razz.gificon_razz.gif

I identify with pretty much every one here about all the favs. My newest favorite tool is actually a clear plastic mat that I bought at Wal-Mart. It's where the material is. It's the plastic for table cloth covers!

I have a formica countertop that absorbs color like mad and I just lay the mat on my counter and work on that!!! So perfect for rolling out fondant and what not and just plain ol' keeps my counter clean and free from icing color! OH OH OH, that's another thing the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.......Gotta have those to clean up the icing colors that do get on the counter!!!!! Couldn't live without that invention.

I still have to buy the 6"spatula, I can't wait to see how that works out!!!!!!!

Oh yeah, I just remembered another one! I love love using plastic wrap to store my excess icing in. When I go to use it again, I just cut off one twisted end of the roll of icing and pop it into my icing bag. No mess, I can swap out tips and colors all in one bag with no mess!!!!!

Another thing that I cannot live without are my Mario Batali measuring bowls!!!

They have measurments on the inside and they are great! I mostly use them for mixing colors because they come out sparkling clean!!!

LOOK FOR THOSE AT THE TENT SALE!!!! I PAID $2.00 LAST YEAR!!!

Cakemommy, do you put the whole thing into the icing bag--wrap and all? Wow! That would really save on cleaning bags!

Most definately! Just make sure the ends are wrapped/twisted tight and then fold those twisted ends over to store. When you need to use, just snip off one end and place that end down in the bag! It works great!!! Sure does save on cleaning the bags which is my number one tapedshut.gificon_evil.gificon_mad.gif !!!!!
