Well this is just a rant and rave...

My friend is starring in a play tomorrow and I wanted to make her a bouquet of roses to congratulate her on her performance... So I baked the cookies on Wednesday, let them set up, and iced them yesterday because the icing I use takes 24 hours to set up firm. Today I was supposed to outline and decorate them, let them set for 24 hours and then they would be ok to handle tomorrow when I package them.

BUT things didn't go so well. I hear a crash in the middle of the night sounding like it came from my room, so I go out into the hallway and see my cat looking at me like, "uh oh! I didn't do it!!" (we all know that look.) I checked the upstairs, nothing wrong. This morning, I go downstairs into the kitchen to find my ENTIRE tray of cookies on the floor, upside down, half broken, AND at least 9 of them had cat hair on them.

Of course I came home early today to make more, but still, does anyone have pets like this?!?

AM I ALONE?? icon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gif

Yes! My 8 month old kitten gets up on my counter in the kitchen, at first all we had to do is say her name, but she doesn't care anymore. She steals jewelry, food, lids to bottles, she will eat soap especially if there is bubbles. We try spraying her with a spray bottle full of water, that works, but 1. gets everything wet, 2. it only works when we are awake or in the house. Good luck!

My cats have their own room that they are banished to when I am baking and decorating! If anything has to sit out overnight they stay banished! I am totally OCD and paranoid about cat hair, my hair or anything near my cakes or cookies. They snub me when I finally let them out of their room. Not too many cats can say they have their own room, though, so I don't feel too sorry for them!!

my kittys would do that probaly, or just walk all over them. you should(if you can) lock your kitty in a room with his/her litter box for the night or two when you do stuff that needs to sit out, or let it sit in the microwave with the door closed (if you have a big enough microwave) just ideas ^^ hehe

In the third Wilton course I made all those time consuming fondant roses and I left them to dry in a shoe box. Bonnie and Clyde (two of four cats) ATE around six of them and used a bunch more for midnight playtime. At least they were just for class and luckily I had lots of time to redo them!

I have another cat that will OPEN a box of timbits (donut holes) and eat all the plain cake ones. She will pick through the box to get to the ones she likes and will leave all the others!

Cats are soo funny!

Yeah, I made a cake, just for practice mind you, but it took me FOREVER. well, I had it siting on my table, and Mr. Snuffalpagus, (my cat) licked a bunch of the icing off during the night. Your not alone thumbs_up.gif
