How can I make a cake mix more dense? More of a pound cake-ish texture? Any ideas?

Thanks!

Add another egg (per mix if you use mixes ie 4 not two and the whole egg) and use milk in place of your water...

You could also add sour cream and/or a small box of instant pudding.

Wow, it's as easy as adding another egg? What does using milk do to the cake, keep it more moist?

Oh, I do intend to add a box of flavored pudding mix, will it be ok to add that and an extra egg? or will I throw off some strange balance?

Thanks for the quick responses!

Yes...milk will make your cake more moist. I use milk instead of water in all my cakes and sure you can add an extra egg and the pudding. It'll be great!
