Hi Everyone,

I'm doing a wedding cake for Saturday and this will be my first time with a fruit filling, not bc. Do I need to put a layer of bc down before putting the raspberry pastry filling (it's the sleeve of filling from country kitchens) or do I just put the filling down right on top of the cake? I'm worried about it soaking into the cake by Saturday. Any help would be great. I know I can count on you guys.

If it is a sleeve of raspberry filling, I have always just done a dam of frosting around the edge, then filled in with the filling....nothing down first. Never had a problem with it soaking it at all! Hope that helps you! icon_biggrin.gif

The filling will slide around if you put it on top of buttercream, don't worry about the cake absorbing the filling either.

thanks ginger08 and discolady. like I said it's my first time using the fruit filling, and I kind of panicked when I started to do it. I appreciate the help. Now I can go attempt it. icon_smile.gif
