Hi all,

Does anyone have tips on how they package their cakes for transport. I'm really interested in how you package larger cakes.

I'm currently making a tiered cake and the bottom tier is 12 inches (sitting on a 14inch cake circle).

I've looked everywhere in my local area (Michaels, etc) for a cake box that is 14 inches square and all of them are not deep enough to hold a tiered cake.

Is there someplace online that I can purchase deep cake boxes? Or is there a trick that I can do for deep (tall) cakes? Or should I just look around for those brown cardboard boxes that would be deep enough?

TIA!
Roger R.

I always travel with individual teirs and put them together on site. That way you don't need an extra tall box, and the customer will have a box for anything they have left to take home.

If you deliver the cake fully assembled you should use any deep and strong cardboard box which does not have to be a cake box. Place this box on a towel or slip free rubber mat on the floor.
