I'm doing a cigar cake for this weekend, does anyone have any ideas how to make the cigar look like it's burning? I think powdered sugar for the white ash but how do I get the grayish tint?
Any ideas would be appreciated!

How are you planning to cover the cigar, fondant or bc? If bc, I'd just marble in some grey into the white for the tip, and use a little bit of powdered icing sugar on the board for the illusion of ash having dropped off. Or if you use dessicated coconut, you can tint that and grind it real fine. can't really tint icing sugar, that would melt.

Great idea for the coconut, I think I'll give it a try!
Thanks so much for your help!

You could try and tint dry icing sugar if you had a grey non-toxic powder. That mixed would give you the ash color.
