I agree with the others. Your cakes are wonderful, and she has a whole lot of nerve complaining. Kill her with kindness this time, but next time she calls...oh, so sorry I'm booked solid!

Let her see who else she can find to accommodate her special needs. icon_mad.gif

Well I've returned from the woman's house. She wasn't even there when I got there!!! From the description she gave me about the grass, a palm tree falling off and "gouging the icing", etc. I was expecting a hot mess when I got there. Her husband was home and seemed fairly embarassed. The cake was in their kitchen on the island, which is the first thing I saw when I walked into the room. It was FINE!!!! If she was there I would have wanted to slap her! Some of the grass had sort of broken on the ends where it was a bit long and touched the side of the box. It was hardly "all breaking off the sides and falling apart" as she stated. It took me less than 5 minutes to put another border of grass on top of both tiers, fix the palm tree, and smooth the teeny, tiny little part that had been affected. I was nice as could be, but inside I was seething!!! I have to deliver 180 cupcakes on the other side of town tonight AND finish a groom's cake for 200 people for tomorrow. And I drove there to fix three blades of grass? Then, when the woman got home, I showed her what I "fixed", asked if there was anything else she'd like me to do to it, and she said, "No. It's so cute!" WHAT?!?!?!?!? My gluten-free prices are doubling from now on, and I'm booked the next time she calls. I sincerely think she didn't remember what she ordered, because she placed the order 2 months ago. I'm not sure what she was expecting, but I don't think anything would have been what she envisioned in her head. A good lesson learned! I'm glad I went and made the effort though, because I certainly don't want her bad mouthing me to the 40 people at her party tomorrow.

So sorry you had to deal with this PITA. Her hubby probably told her to get a big glass of shut the heck up. icon_biggrin.gif

she is crazy, they are excellent! It doesn't matter what it looks like after you cut it, you are just going to eat it! How did you make the animals?
