Does that even exist? The choc. cakes that I've made thus far don't hold up that great. I need to make a choc. sheet cake for 50 people & I don't intend to fill it.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated!!

this is a very durable cake, I only take out the chocolate chips if I'm using it for a carved cake though. Very dense and moist but uuuuuuhhhhh, so yummy! Very brownie like texture.

I use the pound cake recipe on the side of the DH Devil's Food box for sculpting. It's suprisingly moist, yet firm.

I've wondered about using this recipe with a pan other than a bundt. I actually had the recipe before purchasing the CMD book & have made it several times in a bundt pan, & it is delicious. It's better a few days after making it. My grandmother passed the recipe to me & she called it "better than sex" cake (although there's quite a few cakes named this).
Have you ever used it as a layer cake or sheet cake? If so, did it sink in the middle? Did you use 3 eggs instead of 4?
Thx!

I have made it in 10 in layers and 8 in layers and I used the 4 egg recipe and it was fine.
