Hi Listmates,
I was wondering if it would be OK to list other favorite cake websites or online stores. I don't want to break the rules because this is my absolute favorite website, but I know there are other sites out there. Would it be OK to list these? If so, what are some of your other websites you visit?
Thanks

I saved all these from a previous thread like this!!!
does anyone know what is up with Sugarcraft? I just went to the website and there was a notice from the Ohio BBB due to complaints. I haven't used them before but I was rather shocked to see that.
This first link is a link to a bunch of links. The last one you can get a recipe for just about anything you want from buttercream to buttroast.

I was at the frostedart.com and I read that they ship cakes across America. How in the world would they do that?! ![]()
All good sites, and I've visited many of them. But no one can do justice to CC......no one!
I put this on a different thread the other day, but these highly detailed exquisite silicone moulds in the Uk are great. They ship worldwide. There is a lovely pansy, feather and quite a few celtic ones. Take a look, its worth it!!

I can tell you how...I did this last summer. I live in Washington state, and shipped a birthday cake to a young friend of our family that had just lost his mother. He lives is Florida...that's right, you heard right, I said Florida!
I made him a 3 layer "Death by Chocolate" cake drizzled with fudge and carmel.
The trick to shipping a long distance is Dry Ice! We went to a local Dry Ice packaging store. First you have to have the right cake box though. I used a triple-box method. That's when you triple up your cake box and then put the cake inside. Make small styrofoam wedges and stick in the corners of the box to reduce the chance of slipping around in route and touching the sides of the box. Make sure that your cake is fully frozen in advance too. Dry Ice has a life of only 24 hours. The more cold you have to start with, the more fresh and tasty your cake will be when it arrives.
Your packager should be able to help you from there. They usually have the styrofoam lined shipping boxes, complete with top lids. Then they will cut the dry ice to the size that you need and insert it for you in the box. They will close it and seal it and then you are on your way to the local Fed-ex store. Only use Fed-Ex or another over nite delivery service, because of the dry ice factor.
This venture for me, in shipping terms alone, were $125.00. So you can see that it is abit costly. So make sure that it is worth it before you do it. Charge what is it really going to cost, not what you see advertised online on some other website. Chances are there are "hidden fees" that you don't see in their ads, that only a paying customer does.
I did it because this boy needed the support, and because I wanted to see if I could do it. So it all worked out. Now I know I can if I want to, but I also know that I will be charging premium price if I do. ![]()
