I received a recipe for a delicious Strawberry Swirl cake from MissCakeLady85 (thanx) icon_biggrin.gif . But what I am wondering is if it would be possible to make marble/swirl cupcakes? icon_confused.gif

TIA icon_lol.gif

I do marble cupcakes all the time, I just put a little of each batter in the cup and then use a toothpick to swirl them together.

Thanks tthardy78 and dl5crew. I kind of had an idea in my head but I wanted to get advice from someone who has made them before. I will make sure that I do not poke a whole in the liner.

Thanks again.

Here are the directions that I got from MissLady85. Check out her photos, she has a cut piece and it looks soooo good! I will be making this for my mother for mother's day. I would really love to make the cupcake bouquet if i can get them to "swirl" right.

Directions:
take a white cake mix and a 4 serving of strawberry jello.

-make the cake mix as dirrected

-take 1/2 off the batter and mix in the strawberry jello mix

(i used 9' rounds for this but you can use whatever)

-poor half of the white batter in half of the pan, and then half of the strawberry in the other side.

-take a spoon and swirl them together (dont swirl them too much or they will blend and cause the whole cake to be pink!!)

bake as per box!!!

PS: this works well with all jello flavors!!!

I had a similar recipe from Betty Crocker for the checkerboard pan set. They used Jello the exact same way to color half the batter to make the checker board (although I added a little food color to intensify the color)

I really like the swirl idea! thanks!
