Hi,
I recently was asked to do a 1970s Rally Car-not the same but I had to do it without a pan or anything so I thought I would try and help.

I made a 12x18 sheet and cut that into 3 sections then wrapped each section and put it in the freezer overnight. Next morning I unwrapped them, spread the fillings on and stacked them and carved while still frozen. I really wasnt as hard as I thought it would be. I used round cookies for wheels.

If you want any more info just PM me.

Good Luck

Here's a link to boonati's tutorial for a lightning mcqueen cake - I did it last week and it wasn't too hard! (I did have collapsing issues in the back - but it was my fault for not having cake board underneath and carving at too sharp an angle, etc - had no sleep and wasn't thinking straight!)
