I am looking for any recipes that will stand up in the Arizona heat that I live in. I use a straight butter recipe normally, but obviously as soon as the cake leaves my house it doesn't do good in the heat. I would prefer that the frosting not be very sweet, but something I can pipe well with and will withhold being in 100+ degree weather.

Hey, I think I know the answer to this one!!! Ok, so I haven't had to use this stuff yet but when I heard about it through my current cake decorating teacher I knew I had to buy some. The product to add to your batch of icing is called STAY ICE. She claims that it works wonderfully in the hotter weather. I bought it from THE PANTRY SHELF in Hartland, Michigan for $6.85 in a 10 oz. container. Their phone # is 810-632-5777. The directions including it's contents and the amount to use is printed on the container. I was told that you should dump the entire container into a sifter and sift it back into it's original container so you don't forget to do so later. If you don't sift it and someone bites into a chunk it tastes very bitter and also it will show up as yellow spots (balls?) when you ice your cake. I don't remember if they sell larger containers or not. If they won't ship it to you, I'd be glad to for $5 extra (gas + packing materials). I'm a newbie to forums so... can I give my email address? icon_biggrin.gif

I am also looking for something that will withstand the heat. I could use any ideas. Someone told me to use a crisco buttercream with meriguine powder. I don't know about the taste though.
