I made a grill cake today. The side of it is cracking in two places. I shored it up with toothpicks and reiced over the cracks but I am wondering if there is something else I should do? I attached the pic so you can see it is well hidden, but I made this cake for tomorrow and want to make sure if there is anything I should do to make sure it doesn't fall off completely overnight...or what do I do if it does?

Is your board strong enough? Usually that's the problem. Hope this helps.

I tried to see the broken part, but couldn't find it.
I think that when the icing crusts and dry well it will hold up Ok. But only you know the extent of the breakage.
Let's hope for the best.
By the way, the grill cake is awsome.Liked it a lot!

I know its not the board becaue I haven't moved it off the plate. The break is covered, but the cake is lopsided a bit because it seems like the top layer on the side is breaking off. Any ideas?

My only idea is that it hadn't settle enough or the cake wasn't dense enough to hold up the decorations on top. But I can't even tell where the crack is, and the cake is awesome, great job.

I cant' see the crack either. I would suggest putting it in the fridge if you can, that will help keep it firm and from moving anymore. then by the time it reaches the party it will have warmed up, but it shouldn't have cracked from transport b/c it was a little more solid from being cold.

HTH

It looks great!
