OK CC:

This cake is giving me the business. The cake has been ordered for this weekend for a Memorial Day BBQ.

I have NO idea what to put on this cake, it would be different if it was for a reason (B-Day, Anniversary, etc), but it is just going to be dessert.

HELP ME , this is alot of area to cover.

you could always do something patriotic - flag cake or something. I have one due for a Memorial Day BBQ too and she picked one kinda like my gazebo cake in my galleries. Or you could just go with the BBQ grill theme - I have seen many photos posted here or a picnic theme witha basket weave or something.

Sorry not much help but Good Luckicon_smile.gif

Since it is a "carrot cake", why not make it a vegetable garden theme?

Oh, that's easy. Regardless of whether you are doing a sheet cake or a torted round one (a star shape would be great if you had the pan though), I'd suggest white BC, and when you pipe the border (shells, whatever), use a bag with mostly white BC with some dark blue on one side and dark red on th other to get a stripe effect.

Make some stars out of white chocolate (colored white, red, blue, or marbled) or use gumpaste. Stand them up in the center of the cake and add a couple on the sides. You could even make some of them (I'd suggest gumpaste, small and thin to keep the weight down) on wires and have them shooting out from the top.

Or just a simple flag cake also would be great.
