i bought two dozen of these ridiculous things (shame on me) because i thought i could make cupcakes in them without having to buy paper liners. then, i tried it and couldn't get my darn cupcakes out of the blasted things. so, i gave them to my boys to play with. but then i started wondering, is there anything else i can use them for?

i have plenty of muffin tins, so if i need to make cupcakes, i'll just use the paper liners in them. i don't want to feel like i've wasted my money.

any ideas?? thanks!

I had the same problem, I tried removing the cupcakes when they were cold, when they were room temperature, and when they were still hot. All I got were really sad looking cupcake pieces. Has anyone tried the silicone muffin pan? Does that work better?

I have brushed them several times with melted chocolate--letting it dry in between. When they are set well I peel them out and fill them with different things--cupcakes, mousse, pudding, etc. People really seem to like them.

At a kids party, use them to set out candies, etc. Or use them to seperate foods in a lunchbox?

You can use them for Jello jigglers, too! Make the jello in them, and then top with whipped cream piped with tip 1M to make jello cupcakes! (From last years Wilton yearbook, I think) Just lightly spray with cooking spray before you fill them.

I have the Wilton ones and mine stuck too, but next time I'm going to spray them first. The Silicups brand says you don't need to spray them or anything first, but they were more expensive so I got the Wilton brand. However, I may try out the Silicups kind one day. Then if they work and I don't need the Wilton brand, I'll donate to someone who wants to stick them in their bra! icon_lol.gif You guys are too funny. Btw, I also have the rubbery muffin pan and they stick in there too, unless you spray.

My daughter uses these to make glycerine soap. They work awesome for that, never tried cupcakes in them though!

I'm glad you asked this question cause I had been contemplating buying these for cupcakes. The chocolate cup sounds like a good idea, do you have to coat the cup with anything first before pouring in the chocolate?

first time I tried them I hated them but then I tried again and I lightly ran a knife around and use the knife to pop it out and it was perfect... as far as washing I was ready to toss them in the trash then dh just quickly turned then inside out and wow easy to wash... so not my only problem is they have no paper to keep the sides fresh....

I now use them for muffins mostly

you could make rolls, mini meat loaves, monkey bread, peanut butter cups

If anyone here is crafty, you could make cupcake shaped soaps. They'd be great for a girl's bathroom, girly parties, etc.
