I just had a request for a Michigan Cherry Walnut wedding cake. It's actually for an anniversary - she wants to recreate the wedding cake. So I found a recipe but I was wondering if anyone out there knows what this cake tastes like and if the recipe I found will work. I believe the recipe calls for pecans but I would assume you can sub. any nut.
Here is the recipe I found.

Or if you have a recipe you know of that has good results I am open to that as well.
Thank you!
I did a bit of search and wound up with nada. My thoughts when you said Michigan cherry walnut cake were dried cherries, sour cherries or sweet cherries since Michigan sweet and sour cherries are excellent. I think I would ask the woman about the cake and possibly where she thinks you could find the recipe.
