[img]I'm planning on making my first pirouette wafer cake for my mom for Mother's Day. She's not a big chocolate fan (I didn't get that from her lol) does anyone have any suggestions on what kind of cake would go good with the wafers? Thanks so much!

I have made a yellow butter cake, each layer soaked with a coffee/liquer syrup, and filled with a mascarpone filling. Dust the top with cocoa powder, line up the wafers around the outside, tie with a decorative ribbon and you got a tiramisu cake!

edited to say syrup!

I've done it a couple of times....

Once with a carrot cake and cream cheese frosting. The Pirotte flavor was carmel. It went well together.

Then another time I did a plain vanilla cake with a lemon filling. The Pirotte flavor was vanilla.

They were both very good. Have fun.
