I made a batch of MMF in March and I still have a lot of it left. I am planning to make a cake in June using this fondant. It is still soft and tastes sweet. It doesn't taste exactly the same as when I made it, but it does not taste stale.

What do you all think - should I risk using it? Has anyone used old fondant before? Please help!

I just covered an 8" round for the fam tonight with some Satinice from last September, if that's any consolation, and it is soft and pliable and tastes fine (tho I'm not a huge fan of fondant in general).

BUT, I should say, if I were doing this as a cake for a customer, I'd buy it fresh, just so I'd know that I used everything that was the freshest it could be...mho

I just 2.5 month old fondant to make my flamingos. I just nuked it for a few seconds, reworked it and all was good. As long as it's not moldy, I think it would be fine.
