I went to a local party store on my lunchhour today and picked up one of those silver colored boards (petal edged) to use instead of a regular cake board - wanted something a little nicer for the cake I am doing for this weekend. However I never asked it if was food safe - being it was with all the other food items I would think so. Do you think I should put something betwen it and the cake, if so what? icon_redface.gif

It is, or at least I was told it was.... but I would still put a paper dollie between the cake and the board. I did the same thing just a few weeks ago..

I've never even thought about it. I just assumed it was since it's sole purpose is to put a cake on. They're made by Wilton, right? I'd trust that it is food safe.

No this board is not made by Wilton, but more I look at it, seems to have a coating similar to aluminum foil. Just if I put a doily underneath, when you go to cut the cake, you get doily stuck to it. It must be food safe if sold with the other food container items.........don't expect it to kill anyone! icon_surprised.gif
