I'd like to know what size pans and such I should use for a wedding cake (round) that is for 100 people. I just got engaged and the wedding isn't until October 2008 (as of right now) and I'd like to practice some cakes so that I can do my own...I have all the stuff (pans, etc). Help plz! Thanks in advance! icon_biggrin.gif

Congrats on you upcoming wedding. Check out the Wilton website it gives you the feeding per pan size.

I would do a 14"/10"/6" round. That gives you about 100 good-size servings. HTH

Hi!
If you would like to save your top tier for the 1st anniversary you could do a 6" or 8" for that (not be served obviously) and then a 10" tier & a 14" tier that would serve 95 (going by Earlene Moore's serving chart that I use....better serving sizes than Wilton...IMHO). Or I just quoted a cake last night that is going to be a 6" anniversary tier on pillars, 8" & 12" stacked tiers under that and two 8" satellite cakes. That will serve 93 but it will give you a more dramatic looking cake.
Hope this helps you and if you have any more questions, feel free to PM me!
Just remember to do everything at a comfortable pace and give yourself plenty of time so you aren't rushed. And don't feel bad if you have to delegate duties to other people for help!
