I have been doning fondant cakes for about 2 years now with no formal training and I have gotten fairly good but now people are asking for fondant that shines(like a pearl effect). I tried mixing my luster dust right into the fondant but that didnt work. Please help icon_sad.gif

I have never done this before but I believe you use alcohol to brush on the fondant to make it shiny. I am not sure if vanilla would work too - when I use vanilla to make my fondant pieces adhere they get shiny. Anyone correct me if I am wrong! If I'm wronge we'll at least get your question bumped up

Thank you so much. I appreciate such a quick response from someone I have painted with alcohol and metallics before but I believe there is a way to actually get a pearlized look to your fondant by mixing it in.
