When I first started coming to CC, I did so for ideas and recipes. I was intimidated after browsing through all the galleries and seeing so many beautifully decorated cakes. When I began reading all the questions and especially the posts in this forum, however, I was comforted bc I saw the human side of even the best decorators. Thanks for your willingness to share your mishaps, your stories give reassurance to a novice like me. Please forgive me if I find humor in some of your experiences... they serve to remind me of mine-- like the time I grabbed the mashed potatoes bowl from the frig. instead of the BC ("Why won't this stuff spread?!?") or when a 4 yr. old snatched a handful of the cake I left in the church frig. for another church member (expensive lesson learned there). Anyway, thank you all for letting us see that you ARE human afterall. 
If it was not for this forum I would be as well, The First cakes gallery scares me the most, but it is so great to have this hear and to see the human side of those wonderful cakes. I really am grateful for all the support that the people on this site have provided especially when I suffered my first cake and my first blunder. Even if my boyfriend said it was not that bad.
