Looking For A Cookie Recipe That Isn't Too Sweet

and doesn't spread. I usually use the no fail sugar cookie recipe but some think it is too sweet when the icing is added. Id like to play around with some new recipes.

do you mean a cookie that you will cut out and then ice? The icing may be what makes it so sweet tasting... alone, the no-fail isn't particulalry sweet. I don't have a less sweet base cookie recipe, but here's a bump...

I make it as written but with real butter, and I usually don't have to chill it.

Have you tried Toba Garrett's butter cookie recipie? It isn't that sweet.

i use the wilton recipe for rolled sugar cookies, its not very sweet at all. and it holds its shape well. I think its in nearly every year book they make, and if not its on thier site.
