I haven't tried anything but SatinIce...but it is wonderful....soft, pliable....no cracking....tastes very mellow.....I get it for about $45-50 for 20 lbs. ...very close to me so I don't have to pay shipping.
I don't even consider Wilton fondant.....we all know which is the worst tasting!!!!!!
Satin Ice is very good! So is FondX. I have used them both and they are wonderful. I believe you can get free samples of both from the companies. Satin Ice is from Satin Foods and FondX is from Caljava. Just do a search online.
Also, if you wouldn't mind giving it a shot, try making MMF. It is wonderful and all I use since I tried it. It tastes great and it is so easy to make. Just a thought!

I make my own using Toba Garrett's recipe which you can find in the recipe section here at CC. It is easy to make and the taste is nothing short of excellent!
For purchased I would use Satin Ice. All purchased fondants are very expensive. Homemade fondant is not only better but is very cheap to make.
If you want to try to make it, try this one....
