red splash: fondant or gumpaste cut into shape (looks to be a multi-pointed star 10 or 12 points or so) then each point curved and allowed to harden.
one of the florist foam rings covered in plastic wrap would be a great way to hold the curved shape while drying.
OHHHHHH, Doug, you are so smart. Why didn't I see that before. I will post when I have done the cake. Wish me luck!
I might have to do a little 6 in experiment cake to see what works best for me. I will post if it is not a total disaster. Thanks again guys
