If anyone lives in NJ you will find out the new ruling next year. There will be NO food of any kind-store bought or homemade- allowed in public schools if one of the first ingredients is any type of sugar.

I am interested in good nutrition for our kids but that sure kills the fun of holidays and kid's birthdays!

Meanwhile, I'm sure the kids will be chomping down all those salty treats with artificial colors and flavorings and lots of saturated fats.

Those schools might want to rethink the 'store bought' policy in light of what Texa reported. Actually, mom's home baked goods are probably safer since her own child will also be partaking (unless she's deranged or something).
