Have you thought about doing a buttercream transfer from a coloring book page? Or an edible image? I did a princess cake with an edible image last weekend for a friend's niece and it was easy and turned out really pretty.

I bought my image on ebay from art_design_gifts and they were fast and professional. They even offered to customize it with a greeting and name at no extra charge.

Here's a link to one of her Tinkerbell images. http://cgi.ebay.com/TINKERBELL-IN-PINK-HEART-EDIBLE-BIRTHDAY-CAKE-IMAGE_W0QQitemZ4464492918QQcategoryZ46281QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

You could design the whole cake around the image.

Hope this helps,
Sharon

I used a Tinkerbell musical globe for the top of my daughter's 13th birthday cake. Made butterflies from rice paper to go with it. It was a lot of work ,but she definitely loved it. It's in my photos.

edited to add link to photo

wow that is a beautiful cake!! I was also thinking of a regular cake and topping it w/a figurine. Disney stores have so much tinkerbell stuff out right now, she's becoming very popular.

thanks. It was a lot of work, but worth it to me icon_smile.gif

Tink is VERY popular right now. I'm sure you wouldn't have any trouble finding something she'd like as a cake topper at the Disney store.
