I bought regular whipping cream instead of heavy whipping cream to make my ganache filling. I already have it heating up!!! Is it still going to work????? icon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gif

Don't see why not - don't think there is that much difference between regular whipping cream and heavy whipping cream

Okay, no one can help apparently sooooooooooo we'll see! I had to add the cream to the chocolate. Now it's a waiting and whisking game!!!!!!

This is a recent thread re: heavy and whipping cream. Just so you'll know what to expect.

the only difference between whipping cream and heavy whipping cream is the stabilizers (gum arabic etc.) in the heavy stuff. Dang, or is it the other way around. If you are having probs with it being too soft, try adding a couple tablespoons of butter to it.

sorry forgot to add that it still needs to be warm when you add the butter.

I've seen ganache recipes that called for whipping cream and others that called for heavy whipping cream. I think you can use either without a noticeable difference. Still keeping my fingers crossed for you icon_smile.gif

Thanks everyone! I love all the experience we have on here.

I am making a ganache filling with it. I have yet again, ANOTHER, boring military cake to do. This one is a Change of Command cake for Wednesday and the secretary of the hospital that orders cakes from me loves a marble cake with the ganache filling. Darn it for me even suggesting that as a filling option!!! Hey, at least I can ask for more for my cakes. I just asked for $25.00 more and she agreed!!!!!!!

Wish me luck gals!!!
