Okay...so I have made my little flags for the tops of my castle turrets but the fondant always appears dusty on it from the icing sugar when you roll it out.Is there any glaze or something I can use besides my fingers which will break the pieces once they dry.I want them not to look powdery.Any tips!!

you could try brushing them with a little crisco.

Won't that make them greasy?? I don't know I have never done it before.

Light corn syrup..by brushing it OR piping gel, the colorless one. icon_smile.gif

Do you just want to hide the powdery stuff or really make it shiny? I know with a lot of my pieces, I take a big blush brush (only used for my fondant icon_lol.gif) and dust over the pieces to get about 99% of the excess dust off. Then, if you still have some that is really stubborn (like on black fondant I have a tough time) you could use vanilla or any clear spirit and just paint over it. It should clean most of that off and give it just a tad of a shine. Plus, it will evaporate and not leave the piece sticky. HTH

I avoid the powdery look entirely by rolling out on slightly greased vinyl. No powdered sugar or corn starch involved at all. Fresh MMF will buff to a shine with your palm if you grease it just a little To me, it just looks shiny - not greasy. But you may feel differently. Try it and see what you think.

Hi...I use clear piping gel. Take a look at the suits on my casino cake. They are rolled fondant painted with piping gel. They are very shiny. They do remain somewhat sticky, so be aware. Good luck.

brush it with clear vanilla, it also makes it smell great. if you like you can look in my photos, the cool whip cake was brushed w/ food coloring mixed with clear vanilla, it stayed shiney.
