Just got an order for a cake needed this Wednesday... No big deal.

11x15 sheet, any flavor, any color but here's the kicker. The cake is for 2 different ladies, one to congratulate finding out she is pregnant, one is a birthday girl. To do "Happy Birthday" on on end of the cake and "Congrats" on the other just seems so "VANILLA".

ANY IDEAS??? This is a new customer and if I can WOW her she's gonna throw me all her business. She's a drug rep and orders probably 6-8 cakes a month. I'd really like to pull a rabbitt out of the hat!

Thanx for all your help!

Why don't you do a spray of roses down the middle of the cake and have them swirl in kinda S fashion.
You could do two different colors of roses. and Have the swirl in the middle both rose colors and the ones in the respective corners the colors of each ladies.
Don't know if that would help but sounds perty anyway.

can you make a fondant/gum paste banner or chocolate banner and have Congrats written on one side and Happy Birthday on the other. That way when someon looks at the cake from the side - they won't see the other. You can have this sticking out in the middle of the cake with an arrangement of flowers (real or icing).

You could center it around a telephone/cell phone with the banner that reads "Good news travels fast!" I'm drawing a blank on how to join them together but perhaps this thought will spark another?!? Good luck.
Btw-- I once did a housewarming and a birthday cake in one. Decorated the cake to look like the celebrant's house with a "sold" sign in front and a "Happy Birthday" swag piped across the pillars on the front porch.
I know all these creative minds will be able to help you out.

Ok - Just thought of another idea. A game board. Have like a Life game. With Congrats at the beginning squares and such (as milestones in a person's life). Writing Happy Birthday when they reach the right milestones. Then you can have figurines showing where they are.

What about doing something with flowers and words such as Happiness, Joy, Love, Celebrate.. ect.. you know words that would fit both ocasions? That way you don't have to necessairly 'split' the cake...
I'd love to see a picture of whatever you come up with! Im sure it will be great!
