Everytime I make a cake LOL I think it gets better once you can get a feel for how long a cake will take you.....now I make certain aspects of the cake as far in advance as possible to avoid pulling all nighters....anything that can be done ahead of time is a great help!!

This past Saturday I stayed up until 2am finishing a cake. I was really tired the next day. It's not the first time and I know it's definitely not the last.
Occupational harzard I guess.....

Yup, yup, yup...did that Thursday night for cake for my boss. Went to bed at 11:30PM, couldn't sleep and finally got up at 2:30AM to finish the cake at 5:30AM. Just in time to get a shower and slap some makeup on and get to work!

i'm a horrible judge about how long it will take.. i put it down on paper and it looks right but when in the middle of it and things go wrong or take a different direction i end up taking more time that i planned... i walk around with blood shot eyes, a stiff back and smelling like sugar.. ah the life of a cake decorator..

heehee, everytime i make a cake, my husband comes in and says "you really enjoy doing this?" i don't mind staying up late working on them - until the next morning, when my babies wake up! I have noticed though that I am getting done earlier - either I am getting better or I am starting sooner, I am not sure which! Of course, anytime you run into problems, it throws your schedule to the wind. Or like me, you ALWAYS forget to buy eggs. That can throw off your schedule a bit. icon_razz.gif
