I've been reading a bunch of the posts here & I've seen in a few places that food color is thinned with vodka. Why vodka?? Thanks!!

Well I guess, bc vodka has practically no taste and bc of it's high alcohol content it evaporates quite fast, so that the colour dries fast. I've used it on my gumpaste chalice and the bible on the communion cake and it worked great. I was so afraid, the chalice wold melt, but it didn't
