Need Help With Making Piping Gel

i have tried making piping gel twice now and i just can't get it to turn out!
i have followed the directions exactly, but i keep getting a film on the top when it starts to cool
does anyone have any suggestions?

What about putting saran wrap over the top of it to keep it from forming a skin while it cools (like we do with cooked puddings)

I had the same problem with mine but after it cooled it seemed ok. I ended up buying some for less than $4.00 though so in the future I think that's probably what I'm just going to continue to do. I know that's not an answer for you but always another option.
