I just bought a 12x12 Magic line cake pan. I'm excited to use it.
How many cups of cake batter does it take to make a good tall 3inch cake? How much bc should I allow to cover it?
Thanks!!!! icon_smile.gif

Good for you!!!!!

I have a 10" x 3" square and it holds 9 cups so I would guess maybe 12 cups of batter? (I'm guessing your pan is a 3" tall one?)

If you use an extender cake recipe you will get more batter - obviously icon_redface.gif
I like DH cake mix, 4 eggs, 1 cup of water and 1 packet of Dream Whip. Mix at least 5 minutes on medium.
Good luck and don't forget to post picture!! icon_smile.gif

Thanks! yes it is a 3" tall. I think I'll use 3 DH mixes. This cake is for Friday and I still have to do a FBCT for it.

I use the wilton charts for a reference for filling all my pans (quite a few ML and wilton) This is one of my most used bookmarked sites.
