I made a strawberry cake last night with a recipe I got from this site(link below) I am not sure if I did something wrong, but the cake came out really strange. The cake was sunken in (concave) in the pan and it was spongy and not a good texture. I followed the directions exactly. Is there anyone out there who has made this cake before? Is this how it is suppoesed to come out? Thanks for any help!

Looks like a lot of liquid in that recipe.

I haven't done this recipe, but i made a strawberry cake from scratch and the texture was too light, like it was made of all air. Just putting frosting on the cupcakes made them sink.

I may be brave and try this one again, but I will cut back on the liquid this time.
Thanks!

I made the one in the cake doctors book and it sank too. The next time I added extra flour, just a few tablespoons, it worked great.

ml

This one never fails me.
Prepare white or yellow cake mix as usual BUT replace the water with pureed strawberries. So simple and comes out delicious and moist everytime thumbs_up.gif I also bake it at 325 until pick comes out clean (like 35-40 mins)
