Hi all,

I have a bride that would like 15 mini cakes. She likes the following idea from Peggy Porshcen which are just beautiful.

What would you charge for the mini 2 tiers (all fondant); or the same 2 tiers using buttercream and lets say royal icing roses?

Also if she just wanted the top tier. So a single 2" or 3" cake in fondant, what would you charge for them?

I find pricing for these minis to be difficult as they take so much time!

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

I would charge at least $5.00 each. People think because they are small the price should be lower but in all they take more time. Good Luck

Bump...

Sorry I can't offer any insight but, I too am curious how much others would charge for variations of this. They look like they would be a lot of work and very time consuming, especially for someone as new to this as myself.

$5 each.....WAY TOO LOW...they are very time consuming to do, and since they are round, they cause a lot of waste as well

I have a basic rule of thumb....whatever your fondant pricing or buttercream pricing is - double it for mini cakes right off the bat.
For a cake like that in fondant, $15 each is not out of the question. Mini cakes are nice, cute and all - but most average brides are shocked that they can't afford them. Just because they are small does not mean "cheaper" or "easier"

If I were your customer...I would pay $15 - $20 each for such a specialty item. Don't sell yourself short.

One more thought...There is a Persian bakery near my house that does all sorts of mini pastry, including cakes. The price begins at $7.99 per pound all the way up to $10.99 per pound depending on the ingredients.

Phewf! I was thinking $12 for the buttercream and $15 for the fondant for 2 tiers.

For the single tier I was thinking $10 each.

Thanks all!
