Hi there My name is Tammie and I am a newbie to CC. I just finished the Wilton I course and fell in love. I plan on taking course II and III and hopefully can find more as I would love to learn all that I can. My sons 7th b-day is coming up (like sat) I am making him a chocolate cake (going to try the darn good choc cake receipe) but I would love to decorate it with whip cream icing. Does anyone know of a good receipe or any tips on decorating with whip cream? Any and all advice is welcomed and appreciated.

will post some pics soon!
Hi and Welcome Tammie,
Here's a list of CC acronyms:

The Whipped Cream Frosting recipe (with cream cheese) is very good:

and a Frosting thread:

Look forward to pictures of your son's birthday cake.
thank you for the welcome Jan H. I think that I will try the whip cream frosting with cream cheese. Just a quick question. Does that receipe taste like the cakes with whip cream from a bakery? And does that icing color and decorate well ? (using basic star tips and borders?) thanks a bunch Tammie
The whipped cream frosting from the bakery or chain megastores is either Rich's Bettercreme or Pastry Pride.
Here are some RBC and PP threads:

The whipped cream frosting recipe from CC makes a soft frosting (like stabilized whipped cream).
You might be able to pipe simple designs; probably refrigerating the frosting would help. Sorry I can't be of more help, but I only frosted the cake and then decorated with mmf accents.
