Still On Cloud Nine From First Paid Cake!

Hi all!
Delivered my first paid cake yesterday and am still feeling so good about it. My friend ordered the cake for her daughter's 5th birthday and said her daughter liked Hello Kitty. That was pretty much all the direction I got! The ideas started to form immediately in my head because of all of the great stuff I've seen her on this site. My friend was absolutely thrilled; I truly think it exceeded her expectations!
I charged her $25 because I truly consider this to be practice (I asked that she not give the price out to any potential customers!). I am going to a Collette Peter's class in two weeks and really wanted to brush up my skills for that.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and thanks to those who left comments on the hello kitty cake I posted yesterday. This is a great site and I'm so glad I found it!

Hi Cindy:
I know how excited you must be. When I got my 1st check it was exciting too. It makes you feel that the practice and research is worth it. It gives a sense of completion too.

Congrats! I am sure very many more orders will follow. Your friend got a steal with your Hello Kitty cake - I understand the "practice" thing. I have a friend I make my "prototype" cakes for and I don't charge her as much either - it's good practice. Best wishes! Your cakes are lovely.
