2 Cakes, 1 Party, 6 Mothers, 1 Bride - Help!

Hi all,

I need some ideas. I have a friend who is ordering a cake(s) for an office party. This party is for 7 people (1 Bride and 6 soon to be mothers).

I'd like to get away with making one 1/2 sheet cake if I could or perhaps 2 8 inch round cakes. These cakes will serve about 40 people.

I need a theme that will incorporate a bride and baby theme for all 7 people.

Why you dont decotare one of each, one for the bride (bridal style) and the other baby shower tipe? but same flavors, and same kind of decorations.

What about something really elegant, like cornelli lace and some roses, etc., etc. and with a saying like " .....good things to come..."

Could you make one of those cakes with the bows that look like a gift? The ones that have a lid and what looks like tissue paper coming out, or even the ones without the lid.

no visual concept, yet...

but how about working off the end of the old rhyme:

___ and ___ in a tree,

k - i - s - s - i - n - g..

First comes love

Then comes marriage

Then comes the baby carriage.

Going off of Doug's Idea.

Make a three tier cake.

First tier Trees alround it with the names of the brid and groom on the leaves with K-I-S-S-I-N-G spelled out on the front side of the tier.

Second tier has hearts and wedding things like veil, or bride and groom ect.

Third tier has man pushing a carriage and anthing thing else baby like bibs, onsies, ect.

Play out the rhyme pictures made out of fondant on each layer is my idea.

Please post your pic when you finish I would love to know what you finally come up with.
