After hearing the raves and reviews I have had it in my mind to make some of these cake bites (or whatever we have decided to call them). For the last few weeks I have been saving my leftover bits hoping for the day I would have enough to make some.
I made a small wedding cake yesterday for a lady at dh's work and decided to be sweetheart and make some to send in for her wedding plus for the other co-workers and the bosses (a little brown-nosing never hurts). I didn't think they were that fab but I am not a white chocolate fan which is what I used. But...they were a huge hit at his work. The FUNNY part is he calls and says "yeah everyone loved those 'CAKE BALLS'." So I guess there is no way around it cake balls it is. Like it or lump it LOL LOL. ![]()
DH and I can't help but giggle about the balls.
People look at me funny and say, "I didn't know cakes had those!" ![]()
I've tried cake truffles....but it doesn't stick.
I DO like cake bites. Will try those.
Next time I'm going to try to make the squares (press it into a pan first) Any good ideas about what I could call those???

Uh....Cake squares! LOL!!
I did want to share the below link in case you didn't see it before. I really like how these are put on sticks and I like the looks of how they are dipped. Once you have clicked on the link, scroll down...they will be in the middle column.

hello
I checked the Neiman Marcus site.
(I can't believe their prices!!)
the cake balls on the lollipop sticks are cheese cake; that can not be easy to do.
ciao
Yes, I realize they are cheesecake. I still think the cake balls would work, as mine had a truffle type consistency. I'm going to try it.
Their prices ARE terrible aren't they. Whew...explains why I never shop there. LOL!!
i have some scraps from saturday...can they still be used?
Absolutely!
In fact, I have frozen my scraps before when I didn't have time to make the cake balls right away. Worked like a charm!
What are cake balls?
Here is a link and receipe:

Hey everyone...
Let's stop referring to our main ingredient in cake balls as scrap.
How can it be scrap when we make such popular delicacies from it? ![]()
how about cake bits? leftover cake? surplus cake?
not scrap! ![]()
