Ok I know this will really show my lack of knowledge but, well I want to know. My 3 year old and I were crusing the toy isle at Walmart last night and a airbrush caught my eye in the car model section. While I know this is not the best situation, my question is would it work until I see if I like using one or not. I don't think it is something I would use often and for that reason I can't justify putting alot of money into one. There are too many other cake things I want. So am I silly or not? Anyone tried it? thumbsdown.gifthumbs_up.gif

I can't tell you if this one would work or not. I'll have to check it out icon_smile.gif

But, I can tell you that I love working with an airbrush, I used one for the first time at work last week and now I find a reason to use it all the time!

I have heard of others buying that same airbrush for modelling from Walmart. As long as you use food edible colors and don't use it for anything else..people have reported it worked pretty good!!

There is another thread for this, you would have to search for it, but pretty recent.

Someone reported that they are not sure that the liquid used to force the air is edible.

Try to find the thread it is pretty lenghty.

I was searching for past threads just now and I guess there is a question as to if you can use the forced air on a cake because of it being butane? Any problems?

Sorry guys Here I thought I had an original idea and after searching I found out this has been covered ALOT! Guess I should have searched before instead of after asking the question. However, after my search I am still confused (not surprising) It seems to be a very split decission as to if they can be used or not.

So is it ok to use on cakes?? I would love to know this too! It could have used an airbrush for my last couple cakes. I wasn't too thrilled with how my painting on MMF turned out.

I think what I would be concerned about the air flow being too strong and blowing holes in my icing.
