I have a customer who is requesting a 3-D stadium cake. She sent me some pictures(I'm not sure from where) and they look like stacked round or square cakes that had the insides carved out. Won't that cause the sides to collapse? How do you support this type of cake with out building some outside supports? Any ideas?

Thanks

Can you use fondant to hold the cake together?

Go to google.com and search stadium cake pan. I seen some good ideas there.

I bought a stadium pan at Linens and Things. I think it was about $25 or so and is a little bigger than a bundt pan. It is nice and heavy and has seats and stuff all molded right in it. You just decorated it like you would any shaped pan. Works really well.
