I have a grad cake to do for Sunday. The seniors picked their "class colors" and they are ..... hot pink and lime green!!! She wants these colors for her cake. Which I am kind of excited about because it could be great! My question is do you think it would be better to ice the cake all white with the pink and green added on OR ice the cake hot pink and have the green and white as accents? Was thinking of still doing the grad cap in black would that be weird? Any and ALL suggestions would be great!! Thanks everyone.

I have only used the spray once and it started coming off any time I touched it. Have you used it before?

Could you ice the top one color and the sides the other color?

Hot pink and lime green, what a color combo!!! I think it would be fine to go all pink, with the green and white accents. A black hat would be fine too. I mean, that is the theme, right?!? I've used the spray, and you definitely have to be careful not to touch it once it's on the cake. You can certainly decorate over it, but if you make a mistake, it's very hard to fix it! Can't wait to see a pic!!!

i don't think white with the colors would look good. Sounds like they are going for the funky pink and green look right now. Like at Victorias Secret. But with white I think it may be kind of tacky; not cute and funky like they want. I think either way with pink on green or green on pink would look great. You could make the designs of the Victorias Secret pajamas if they like that. It is exactly those colors. And they say PINK on them.

I thin I would go pink on green, but thats just a preference, both would look good. Don't think I would go all white with pink and green accents though. Whatever you do it will look great. Do they have a logo? Maybe you could incorporate that?

I would tend to think green base, too...this is not unlike the Dora colors...could be useful for color combo ideas

I love cakes with contrasting side and top colors. Maybe you could use one of those colors for the tassle on the cap also. and BTW, I made a cake lst summer and used the spray color boy was I surprised when someone was tasting a piece and said MMM minty. !!! I didn't know it had a flavor! (I used the pink one) Luckily it didn't conflict with the flavor of the cake!

My vote is a pink grad cap with a green tassle and green writing. I agree to do all pink with green accents or all green with pink accents, leave the white out of it.

I have a cake book where the cake is covered in pink fondant and they put a lime green ribbon weaved through it. It was a really good color combo.

I like the pink all over with green accents BUT... sounds like they are going for hot pink, which I have used and when you get it to that cool deep pink, it can change the taste of your icing. The green always seems to take less color for me, especially a lime green.

Thank you all! I forgot about the pink tasting funny. I think I am going to go with the green all over and pink accents. Thanks again for the help.
