Hi All,
I was just wondering if anyone has any idea about the colored cake foil. I just did a cake and in the kit it had black decorative foil for the board. But I noticed when I was wiping some icing off of the foil some of the black rubbed off onto the paper towel. I am afraid this is going to seep into the cake and that the bottom is going to be ruined. Does anyoe know if the coating on the cake foil is safe to eat, or if I should worry about it? Thanks!

I have had the same problem and learned that you need to cover the foil with cello or contact paper.

..most of the colored foils are not considered "food safe" and therefore should not come in direct contact with food.

I use a white floral foil on mine and do not have problems with the color coming off. But white is the only color I use. And yes I know that it is not approved for food.
